I know that might sound like a lot & not possible. But stop and take a look at all the coconut added to many “health” foods. Coconut is in everything these days!

Coconut has a natural sugar alcohol called Sorbitol.

Coconut water has the Sorbitol & Fructan. I will over these in my Master Class!

Sorbitol is a Polyol & over consumption of this natural sugar substitute could upset your stomach and gut. Most likely give you a serious case of lead stomach!

You know…that feeling of having a piece of lead in your stomach, a heavy uncomfortable feeling.

Fructan is a longer chain sugar that humans do not have the enzymes to digest. NOW…some Fructan is good. It can help with the good bacteria in you gut. BUT…moderation is the key.

Sorbitol is poorly & incompletely absorbed by most humans in the small intestine. Moderation is the key.
_
Polyol are the “P” in FODMAP.
_
FODMAPs are short-chain carbs in our foods that are rapidly fermented & can be poorly absorbed.

I’m not saying coconut is bad for you, in fact it could work well in a balanced whole food nutrition plan.

What I am throwing down here is the importance of food rotation & MODERATION!

Don’t eat the same foods 5x a day. Rotate the goods & your gut will be much happier 🙂
