Celery has a natural sugar alcohol called Mannitol.

Mannitol is a Polyol & over consumption of this natural sugar substitute could upset your stomach and gut.  Most likely give you a serious case of diarrhea!

Mannitol is poorly & incompletely absorbed by most humans in the small intestine.

Polyol are the “P” in FODMAP.

_

FODMAPs are short-chain carbs in our foods that are rapidly fermented & can be poorly absorbed.

I’m not saying celery is bad for you, in fact it could work well in a balanced whole food nutrition plan.

What I am throwing down here is the importance of food rotation & MODERATION!

Don’t eat the same foods 5x a day.  Rotate the goods & your gut will be much happier 🙂
